The Communications Director is in charge of overseeing SLASC’s marketing and event announcements. Furthermore, the Communications Director collaborates with the Membership and Programming teams to create content for the monthly newsletter and events. Tasks include:

  • Design, Edit & Publish monthly newsletter
  • Design graphics for the monthly newsletter
  • Design event flyers in collaboration with the Programming team
  • Design event emails
  • Contribute monthly highlights (for birthdays and at random) for individuals in the EC, general SLASC members and alumni mentors in the monthly newsletter 
  • Gather information for the Kudos Corner in the newsletter
  • Create and update Discord Events
  • Create and update Canvas announcements
  • Create and update Canvas calendar events
  • Share graphical content with Social Media and Web team for a consistent aesthetic across platforms.
  • Monthly updates at the board meetings
  • Completion of a semester Director’s Report
