We are thrilled to share exciting news with you!  The internationalSpecial Libraries Association honored the SJSU iSchool SLA Student Group with 3 Certificates of Merit Awards for:

  • Outstanding Leadership
  • Creative Use of Electronic Resources
  • Innovative Programming

The Awards celebrate the work of the entire SLA Group membership.  The group couldn’t have done it without you – the members! Thank you all for your commitment, enthusiasm, and hard work! Congratulation to everyone in the SJSU iSchool SLA Student Group who helped us achieve this success!

While we celebrate our Group’s success let us acknowledge those who have helped us:

  • Big thank you to Dr. Cheryl Dee for her mentorship, guidance and active encouragement in all of our endeavors!
  • Thank you to Dr. Bill Fisher for sharing his wisdom and experience.
  • Thank you to the SJSU iSchool – especially Dr. Sandra Hirsh, Dr. Linda Main, Dr. Sue Alman, Vicki Robison, Sheila Gurtu, Nicole Purviance, Lisa Valdez, Brittany Austin, Alfredo Alcantar, Serenah McKay, and Stanley Laufer for welcoming our group, for helping us establish our presence and for celebrating the Group’s successes.
  • Thank you to SJSU ASIS&T, ALASC and SLISConnect for inviting our Group into the community through collaboration, partnerships and exchange of ideas.
  • And finally, our sincere thanks to the chapters that supported our Group and our Members through scholarships and mentorship opportunities – the Silicon Valley SLA Chapter, the Bay Area SLA Chapter, the Southern California SLA Chapter and the Oregon SLA Chapter.
