The Programming Team is responsible for organizing and running programs. This includes planning 2-3 programs per semester, contacting guest speakers, ensuring events are promoted to membership and the iSchool, and serving as host for programs on Zoom.
The Programming Director’s responsibilities include:
- Coordinating and leading Programming Team meetings, including event debriefs
- Guiding best practices for each semester’s programming calendar
- Overseeing the “big picture” of each semester’s programming and program deadlines
- Leading development and presentation of SLASC programs:
- Leading search for prospective program presenters
- Serving as point of contact for presenters
- Delegating programming responsibilities among Programming Team members
- Requesting outreach and promotion for events from other SLASC EC teams
- Creating program tools such as event Zoom meetings, post-program surveys, event agendas
- Being actively involved in executing programs, including hosting, moderating the chat, assisting with tech, recording the meeting, and offering hospitality and welcome to presenters and attendees
- Following up with presenters and SLASC EC teams after programs to disseminate post-program materials
- Attending monthly Executive Committee meetings and presenting the Programming Team report to the EC at the meeting
