On October 7th, two archivists and a librarian at Yale’s Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library met to talk about their time working with one of the largest collections of rare works. This roundtable event offered insight into how collections are curated, archived, and made accessible for the scholars of today.
La Historia’s Mission to Preserve El Monte’s Heritage

During this presentation from the Obama Presidential Library on August 18th, Speaker Jill Zawacki described the work required to create the nation’s first all-digital Presidential Library. Zawacki also described challenges the team has faced, including a major change in location.

Preserving Liberty – Collections and Archives at the Statue of Liberty National Monument
On April 2nd Matthew Housch, Curator of Collections and Archives at the Statue of Liberty National Monument, discussed the work of preserving the historical treasures of Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. Housch described challenges involved in maintaining these collections and how they help tell the story of immigration, freedom, and American identity.
