La Historia’s Mission to Preserve El Monte’s Heritage
Please join the Special Libraries Association Student Chapter (SLASC) on Friday, October 3rd, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm (PST) for a special presentation from the El Monte nonprofit, La Historia. Their mission is about preserving Mexican American history through community engagement and collaboration. Join us in hearing how Nena and Bianca accomplish this as either someone also working full time in a public library, or as someone who has needed to master the rules of archival practice in order to realize when its important to bend them.
