The Communications Team is responsible for outreach to SLA, regional and student chapters, alumni, and other iSchool student groups as needed. They also create advertising material for SLASC programming and provide graphics for the monthly SLASC newsletter.
The Assistant Communications Director’s responsibilities include:
- Assisting with creating and distributing flyers and other various promotional content for SLASC programs, in coordination with the Communications and Programming Teams
- Assisting with creating graphics for the monthly SLASC newsletter
- Assisting with alumni communications
- Assisting with the collection and distribution of information about SLASC member awards & achievements
- Monitoring the LinkedIn page for alumni-related updates and outreach
- Creating social media posts related to events, in collaboration with social media team, as needed
- Updating the EC and General Membership alumni list
- Attending monthly Executive Committee meetings when possible
- Attending SLASC programs when possible
