What is your role on the Executive Committee?
I am the Membership Director of SJSU ASIS&T’s Executive Board. This means that I connect with new members, aggregate information about our current members, and respond to membership inquiries and requests.
What is your focus/pathway during your time at the iSchool?
While at SJSU, I am focusing on public librarianship through the lens of adult literacy and information literacy. However, I think it’s important to learn a little bit of everything, so I am also taking classes in information technology and technical services.
What do you enjoy about being on the ASIS&T Board?
I love being able to connect with fellow students leaders in a completely student-run atmosphere on the SJSU ASIS&T Executive Board. It’s great being able to problem solve and make big decisions as a unit, which is fantastic practice for participating in professional organizations and in leadership roles within libraries/information organizations.
What are three fun facts about you?
- I am obsessed with Star Wars, and I own two lightsabers.
- I’m a black belt in Taekwondo.
- I think working in a public library is the best job in the world!
