  1. Good afternoon,
Im a special session MLIS student and I was wanting to join. But I have reservation because im a virtual student. Any thoughts or advice on this?

    • Hi Heather,

Being a virtual student is even more reason to join an Association like ASIS&T! As part of a virtual program like the SJSU MLIS, becoming an active member or taking part in a student organization can help you feel connected to other students, engage with faculty and experts in the field, socialize, volunteer and get involved, and generally bring additional value to your MLIS program. The ASIS&T Student Chapter schedules programs throughout the year on social, career development, expert/guest speakers, and faculty research topics. We would love to have you as a member and hope to see you at future events. If you’d like to get involved with the Executive Committee, just let us know!

Check out the last two blogs for additional insights into how being involved with SJSU ASIS&T can be an asset during your MLIS. http://ischoolgroups.sjsu.edu/asistsc/sjsu-asist-blog/
