BOARD ELECTIONS
SAASC is now accepting nominations for the Fall 2021-Spring 2022 Board!
Looking for ways to enhance your iSchool experience? SAASC is now recruiting students for leadership positions!
Help us achieve our chapter’s mission to energize our membership, foster career development, and provide multiple connection points with others interested in archives. Our new leadership team will be key to sharing news and opportunities along with organizing virtual and (hopefully) in-person events.

NOMINATIONS DUE:
SATURDAY, APRIL 10, 2021
CHAIR
- Oversees the chapter’s activities
- Coordinates team functions
- Sets agenda & facilitates board meetings
- Monitors email correspondence
- Prepares Annual Report for SAA
- Represents chapter at meetings and conferences
VICE CHAIR
- Plans and implements virtual events & site tours
- Develops event outreach list
- Point person for organizations/individuals
- Creates promotional materials
- Coordinates event schedule and logistics
- Monitors event registration
- Hosts event
- Fills in for the Chair when needed
SECRETARYÂ
- Oversees social media & web presence
- Adds events/meetings to iSchool master calendar
- Assists Chair with biannual member meetings
- Records, finalizes, and uploads virtual event videos
- Prepares board meeting minutes
- Organizes and archives files on the chapter’s Google Drive
SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR
- Supports Secretary with social media & web presence
- Promotes events & other chapter activities on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn
- Shares relevant news and opportunities on social media
- Develops social media presence by growing followers
- Creates social media graphics
WEBMASTER
- Maintains SAASC website hosted on the iSchool WordPress site per school guidelines
- Creates graphics for homepage and subpages
- Works with SJSU IT contacts to maintain technical and security updates
- Coordinates with all board members to update site
- Troubleshoots issues with site functionality, access, broken links
- Maintains documentation on non-standard features of website for future webmasters
BLOG EDITORÂ
- Creates event recaps and archives-related blog posts for website
- Creates image for each blog post and uploads to website
- Works with board to promote blog posts
- Reviews guest blog post submissions and edits as needed
MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORÂ
- Promotes membership among iSchool students
- Creates and distributes monthly newsletter for members
- Maintains membership roster
- Creates alumni outreach program
- Promotes benefits of parent organization
REQUIREMENTS FOR ELECTION:
- All elected or appointed members must be a current member of our parent organization, Society of American Archivists, or join the organization within two weeks of accepting the position.
- Nominees must be currently enrolled students at SJSU iSchool and plan to enroll in the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 semesters.
- Team members must commit to at least 1-2 hours per week, depending on the position and participation in chapter activities such as site tours and virtual events.
TIMELINE FOR ELECTIONS:
- April 10:Â Nominations Due
- April 18 – 24: Voting Open
- April 26:Â Results Announced
