ALASC Board Nominations Now Being Accepted – Great Leadership Opportunity for SLIS Students!

Are you interested in increasing your leadership skills, gaining experience, creating programs for fellow students, and developing professional contacts? If so, consider running for an officer position in your American Library Association Student Chapter (ALASC)!

Nominations:
ALASC is accepting self-nominations for the 2013-2014 officers from now until Sunday, March 31 at 11:59 pm PT. Please submit your letter of intent and your photograph to sjsualasc@gmail.com. Tell us why you are interested in the position, what you hope to accomplish, and your qualifications. Please keep it short and sweet (approximately 100-500 words); your letters will accompany the online ballots to assist voters with their decisions.

Positions Available:
Chair, Co-Chair/Web Coordinator, Newsletter Editor, Social Media Manager, Regional Event Coordinator, Virtual Event Coordinator, Secretary/Archivist, and Treasurer.

Voting:
Elections will be held on D2L from April 1 – April 7, 2013. You must be enrolled in the ALASC site on D2L to vote.

Board Terms run from May 2013-May 2014.

Nomination requirements: Officers can reside anywhere with the exception of the Treasurer, who must be able to visit San Jose State University campus bi-monthly.
