First Place Winner
Frank Florian, SJSU ASIS&T Student Chapter Program Director
Please join us in applauding Frank on his award winning essay entitled “Why I’m a Member of the SJSU ASIS&T Student Chapter” and his recent graduation from the SLIS program at SJSU. Of his experience in our Student Chapter, Frank wrote “Student organizations like the SJSU ASIS&T Student Chapter provide significant opportunities to collaborate and network with fellow students as well as learn from each other outside of the classroom. In addition, in an active student organization like ours you will get many opportunities to develop highly valued professional skills. Therefore, I unequivocally encourage all SLIS students with strong interests in information science and technology to consider joining and participating in the SJSU ASIS&T Student Chapter here at SLIS. You won’t regret it.”
As the author of the winning essay, Frank will be awarded a one year ASIS&T student membership as well as a $50.00 cash prize. Additionally, the winning essay will be published in its entirety in the Student Chapter’s May 2012 newsletter. Congratulations, Frank!
