Guest Speaker Bios:
Stephanie Akau
Stephanie is an MLIS candidate graduating from the SJSU iSchool this May. Currently, she is a Library Information Specialist in Access Services at the University of New Mexico Libraries and an intern at the Center for Southwest Research and the Educopia Institute. She is not sure where she will be working after library school, but it will definitely be in an archive somewhere. Stephanie is a 2018-2019 ALA Spectrum Scholar and active in APALA, the Asian Pacific American Librarians Association, where she serves on the literature awards and membership committees.
Paizha Stoothoff
Paizha graduated from SJSU and was awarded her MLIS degree in December of 2018. In July of this year, she will start her new position as Humanities Librarian at Cal State LA. Her background includes working at CSU Long Beach Library, interning at UC San Diego Library, teaching college Composition, and grant writing. Paizha also has a BA and an MA in English Literature.
Nicole Eckroth
Nicole Eckroth will be graduating from San Jose State University with her MLIS degree this spring. She currently works as an Instructional Librarian at the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND. She has previous background in public and school libraries.
Whitney Sproul
Whitney Sproul will be graduating from San Jose State University with MLIS in August 2019. She currently works as Open Educational Resources Coordinator at Salt Lake Community College’s Markosian Library, in Salt Lake City, UT. She thoroughly enjoys working in an academic library and hopes to work as an academic librarian after graduation.
