Call for nominations for ASIS&T Student Chapter board: Social Media Administrator and Newsletter Editor
The Nominating Committee invites nominations from SJSU ASIS&T Student Chapter members for vacancies in the Executive Committee for the year 2011-2012.
Social Media Administrator
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Create, implement, and manage Student Chapter social media accounts.
- Promote Student Chapter meetings, programs, projects, activities, news, publications, resources, and features to students and faculty via Student Chapter social media accounts.
- Relay the Student Chapter’s message and brand consistently across multiple social media networks.
- Provide feedback to those who interact with the Student Chapter’s social media accounts.
- Monitor the Student Chapter’s social media accounts for inappropriate content.
- Inform ASIS&T Headquarters of any updates to the Student Chapter’s social media accounts, which are displayed on the Student Chapter Web page on the ASIS&T Web site.
- Perform such duties as the Executive Committee or the Chair may assign, within reason, as expected of a Social Media Administrator.
Newsletter Editor
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Carry out the functions of designing, creating, assembling, and producing a Student Chapter newsletter twice a semester.
- Have strong writing, editing, and journalistic skills.
- Perform such duties as the Executive Committee or the Chair may assign, within reason, as expected of a Newsletter Editor.
***Note: It is a requirement that the Newsletter Editor be able to produce the newsletters using Microsoft Publisher software. Please do not apply for the position of Newsletter Editor unless you have reliable access to Microsoft Publisher.
Nomination requirements: Candidates must be SJSU ASIS&T Student Chapter members. Candidates for office must be clear of intent of enrollment through May 2012.
Nomination process: Candidates may nominate themselves for election. Please send your nomination, including a short bio, statement of purpose, and portrait photograph, to the Nominating Committee Chair Sarah Emmerson at sjsuasist@gmail.com by January 14, 2012 at 11:59pm PT.
Voting process: Elections will be held January 17-21, 2012. Officers shall be elected by a majority of the ASIS&T Student Chapter members voting online via D2L. ASIS&T Student Chapter members must be enrolled in the ASIS&T Student Chapter’s members-only D2L site in order to vote.
