Looking to polish your presentation or instructional experience for your e-portfolio?
The SJSU ASIS&T Student Chapter has included student-led workshops as part of its programming since last semester. Since past workshops have been very well received, we are continuing the programming this semester and are currently looking for a student volunteer to present a workshop in the month of March. The workshop would be on a topic of general interest, which will provide fellow students with practical skills or knowledge useful in their academic or professional pursuits. Preparing for and presenting a Student Workshop like this is a wonderful way to hone your professional communication and instructional skills and provides great evidence for your e-portfolio when it comes time to do that. In addition, if you’re considering working in an academic library, presenting a live instructional session may be part of the interview process. So, get your feet wet and practice this important professional skill in a very supportive environment to an audience of your peers.
