Connect with SLIS Students in your Area

Hello SLIS Students!

ALASC (American Library Association Student Chapter) would like to welcome you to Fall 2011! No matter where you live in the USA or in the world, your ALASC board members are here to help you connect with other SLIS students in your region.

In addition to online events, there are a variety of opportunities ALASC can assist with to help you connect with other SLIS students in your area. Here is just a brief list of events ALASC could help coordinate and promote:

–       Library tours (tell us what libraries you’re interested in visiting)

–       Social get togethers (lunch, coffee or cocktail hours)

–       Local library event

–       Local volunteer or community events

–       Local professional networking events

If you are interested in a local event in your area, please send us an email to sjsualasc@gmail.com with your name, your location, and any events you would be interested in attending. Please be specific in your email (ie – if you’re interested in a library tour, tell us what library; if you’re interested in a social meetup – tell us what kind of meetup or where).

In the meantime, good luck as you start Fall 2011!

Debbie Faires
