If you missed the event, you can still engage with this insightful learning experience. Guest speaker Tina McPherson helped us explore how librarians can contribute to community resilience work by creating a culture of respect, understanding, and empathy. Students participated in discussions and activities to further our understanding of diversity and inclusion and how to apply this knowledge in our careers in the field of library and information science. We learned how we can foster a sense of belonging for people of diverse ethnicity, age, gender, and beyond, in a welcoming environment. Together we can work as change agents to address the challenges of today’s society and better serve our diverse communities.
