ALASC is excited to announce some great online events to celebrate Banned Books Week which takes place September 24th through October 1st. Please mark your calendars and attend one or more of these events!
Second Life Banned Books Meetup -Wednesday, September 28th at 7:30pm PDT
Come join fellow students virtually in Second Life as we gather in VCARA’s (Virtual Center for Archives and Records Administration) Roman Senate space. Come as yourself, your SL persona, or your favorite book character and learn more about Banned Books Week and the importance of advocacy in literature and library. This is also a great opportunity to learn more about the Second Life VCARA site and other events they host.
This event will take place in the Roman Senate Room in Second Life. You can also visit the wiki on the SLIS Second Life Campus to get there.
Please send us an email at sjsualasc@gmail.com if you plan on attending so we can look for you and send you more details and reminders closer to the event.
