Welcome to the Fall 2013 issue of ALASC’s newsletter, the SLIS Descriptor.
In this issue you’ll find articles about  a wide range of topics. You’ll get to read about a fellow student’s study abroad experience in Australia. You’ll learn about a new SLIS wiki. You’ll get a fresh perspective on Pinterest, and how it can be used as a study aid. You’ll also get new leads on extended learning and fellowship opportunities for digitization specialists.
Be sure to keep following ALASC on Facebook or Twitter for updates and upcoming events.
Have you submitted a piece for publication in the SLIS Descriptor? If not, I encourage you to do so. We seek to publish articles, announcements, internship recaps, book reviews, job experiences, comics, event attendee summaries, poetry, photographs, and any other LIS content that you feel is worth sharing with our SLIS community here at SJSU. If you have an idea, please contact us at alasc.descriptor@yahoo.com.
We hope that the remaining Fall semester brings you many exciting opportunities and projects. We look forward to sharing them in our upcoming Winter issue!
Sincerely,
Kerstin Carson
