Farewell!

May 2012 marks the end of my career here at SJSU SLIS.  I want to thank my professors and advisors and most importantly all the classmates, team members and friends I have made along the way, for continual motivation and invaluable insight.

Specifically I would like to thank the 2011-2012 ALASC Officers for the commitment and all the hard work you put into the chapter this past year.  We have accomplished so much!

Beth, our fearless leader, you sacrificed so much of your time and energy into making this chapter successful, professional and approachable by the students. A leader not only for ALASC but many other projects, you were an indispensable ingredient in keeping this chapter and all of us on point.

Elaine, as a new SLIS student your energy was unmatchable and was more than visible in all of the wonderful programs you coordinated across the country and the web.  I know you’ll be just as enthusiastic as the Chair for 2012-13.

Stacey, our overachiever with a hand in everything, your skills and dedication are impressive to say the least. Thanks for making the ALASC Newsletter a must read and congrats on all of your achievements this year, including graduating with your MLIS!!!!

Rosemary, our constant, always willing to go out of your way for a friend or a task. We couldn’t have done this without you. And congrats are in order for being part of this team, while managing the team at home and all this while pregnant!

Jen, thanks for joining us when we needed an extra hand. All you do is much appreciated, especially getting me free airfare to ALA Annual!

and of course…Good Luck to the 2012-2013 ALASC Board! I know this group will do great things!

It’s been a great last year and I’m glad this part of my education has been successfully crossed off my list!  I’m even more excited to be collaborating, meeting and enjoying my SLIS friends in the near future! See everyone at the ALASC Reception, Graduation and ALA Annual in Anaheim!

Now off to San Jose for graduation and a little vacation time!!!

Sincerely,

Lisa Dibbern, MLIS
