“Although I am extremely proud and excited that I am graduating, my time in the SJSU iSchool program leaves me with a bittersweet feeling. Entering this program three years ago, I would not have imagined I would accomplish so much and meet such amazing people who I now call my very close friends. Being a part of multiple student groups gave me opportunities to connect with people from all over the world and bond with them in a virtual setting. ALASC is where I met some of my now favorite people, developed leadership skills, and improved my ability to work collaboratively. I was able to work a part-time position as a student assistant on behalf of the iSchool, secure an internship with the Library of Congress, and meet some extraordinary leaders in the LIS community. I will fondly remember my time in the program as I continue my career in librarianship.”

“As I graduate from SJSU, I am apprehensive yet hopeful. It’s a tumultuous time to take on the role of librarian, but it’s also the most important time, as libraries need defending more than ever. I’m grateful for the opportunities that I received through the iSchool, and the ability to be part of the LIS community. Through the iSchool I was able to work in student leadership which enabled me to develop personal and professional connections, such as my peers, and the opportunity to work with the future ALA president. I’m glad I chose the iSchool for my program, and I look forward to the future.”

ALASC would like to take a moment to congratulate all iSchool graduates and wish them success in their futures!
