We’ve been notified of a great scholarship opportunity from the MLA!
The Medical Library Association (MLA) is calling all qualified candidates to apply for the 2018 MLA Scholarship for Minority Students. MLA wants to support your excellence in scholarship and potential for accomplishment in health sciences librarianship. The scholarship is for up to $5000.00 plus one year of student membership in MLA and free inclusive student registration at the 2018 annual meeting in Atlanta, Georgia.
Please consider applying if you are:
•     a member of a minority group, defined as Black or African-American, Hispanic or Latino, Asian, Aboriginal, North American Indian or Alaskan Native, or Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander.
•     entering a master’s program at an American Library Association (ALA)–accredited graduate library school or, at the time of the granting of the scholarship (February), have completed no more than one-half of the academic requirements of the graduate program.
•     a citizen of or have permanent residence in either the United States or Canada.
•     are not a past recipient of the MLA Scholarship or the MLA Scholarship for Minority Students
Membership in MLA is not required.

Please note that in addition to completing an application form, you will need to submit official transcripts from all previously attended colleges and universities, two letters of reference, and a copy of your library school’s catalog or web page that states the number of credits needed for your degree. All components must be included to complete your application for consideration.
