On April 25th, the ALASC hosted the virtual ‘Magic & Myth in the Stacks’ trivia night celebrating fantastical literature, mythical creatures, and some of your favourite fictional characters!
The quiz tested players in four main categories: Introduction to Magic and Myth; Quests, Adventures, and Legends; Magical Books and Libraries; Mythology and Magical Artefacts. Each category had 4 rounds ranging from 100 to 400 points.
From Harry Potter, the Hobbit, and Narnia, to Winged Horses, Tolkien, and Irish Mythology, this night had it all with prizes to be won for the top three contenders. There was even a question on the most famous library destroyed in ancient Egypt – can you guess which library this was?
The air crackled with anticipation as players racked their brains, debating everything from the proper pronunciation of obscure spells to the names of legendary beasts. The winning player claimed victory with a whopping 3600 points, and the second and third place were only a 100 points apart!
If you missed out on this enchanting evening, don’t despair! Keep an eye out for future events where we’ll continue to explore fascinating intersections of literature, pop culture, and maybe just a touch of magic.
