The Andrew Carnegie Medals for Excellence in Fiction and Nonfiction are awarded annually to honor quality titles for adult readers that were published in the previous year. This award was established in 2012 as the first single-book award issued by ALA specifically to recognize titles published for adults. Winners will be announced at the 2020 ALA Midwinter Meeting, but in the meantime, the shortlist of three fiction and three non-fiction titles has been released.
Learn more about the titles at the official Andrew Carnegie Medals Shortlist page, and learn more about the award here.
