First Five Years Council

SLA’s First Five Years Council (SLA FFY) provides support for new information professionals through their social media endeavors and via special events — both online and off.

If you’re within the first five years of the profession or a student just beginning your career in the field, please join the FFY community! Any advice you have will be really helpful to the SLA FFY council as they plan out 2015 programming and start thinking about 2016.

2015 Travel Award – SLA PHTD Meeting

For consideration of the PHT Travel Award, the applicant must be at least one of the following:

• Students enrolled in a library science program and who express an interest in pursuing a career in corporate librarianship in the Pharmaceutical or Health Technology Industries

• Current professional PHT Division Members who are in need of travel assistance to attend the PHT Spring Meeting

Reminder: S. Kirk Cabeen Travel Award for SLA ’15

The S. Kirk Cabeen Travel Stipend Award is offered to a library school student or first time conference attendee. This award is to be used toward expenses of attending the SLA Annual Conference.

SLA Leadership & Management Division Career Advancement Award

The award will provide the recipient with financial support and mentorship to attend SLA’s annual conference. The award includes:

• one full conference registration

• complimentary tickets to all LMD ticketed events

• one pre-conference LMD sponsored workshop

• $1500.00US to be used to cover travel expenses (for submitted expenses)
