Amritha Jayasankar
My name is Amritha Jayasankar, and I’m Secretary of the UX Student Group @ the iSchool. I currently work at a public library, but my background is in Microbiology. I worked as a Food Microbiologist in a lab and then a food safety auditor.
I decided to make a change in my career, which led me to explore User Experience and learn about it on my own. I also quit my lab job and started working part time at a public library. I became interested in User Experience in Libraries and wanted to be involved in learning more about this specific field, which led me to the UX group.
“With the users in mind, how I can make our resources and
spaces accessible, usable, easily discoverable, and simply enjoyable to use!”
My goals are to gain skills that will equip me to solve issues that public libraries face with a UX perspective. At my work, I’m always thinking of how we serve those who come to the library, and with the users in mind, how I can make our resources and spaces accessible, usable, easily discoverable, and simply enjoyable to use!
