Patagonia Global Collections Manager & Brand Archivist feat. Darcey Moore

SAASC is excited to host Darcey Moore, the Global Brand Archives Collection Manager at the Patagonia Archives on Thursday, October 24, 4:00-5:00 pm PT. Darcey will discuss her experience working as the collections manager and primary researcher at a purpose-led corporate archive. Darcey went to school for Art History, earning a B.A. from Boston University, and half an M.A. from CUNY before leaving school to work in the museum world. She’s worked as a Registrar, Collections Manager, and Exhibitions Manager for a variety of museums and art institutions, before pivoting to her current role as the Collections Manager and primary researcher at the Patagonia Archives, located at the company’s headquarters in Ventura, California.

We all know that archives are awesome, but how do we convince our bosses, colleagues, and others within our organization of the importance of our work and our collections? In this presentation, Professor Lawrimore will talk about ways you can advocate for your archives within a larger organization. Many of the internal advocacy tips discussed could be useful in any professional setting.
