Editorial Team
Executive Editor: Katie Burns
Senior Editor: Lucy Casey
Lucy lives in Wharton, New Jersey and is pursuing her MLIS after spending nine years working in marketing. With a passion for research, organizing, and history, Lucy is excited to enter a career path that will provide her with a sense of creativity, historical importance, and collaboration that she loves! When not focusing on school work, Lucy works as a library assistant in a neighboring town. She loves spending time with her cat, Fern, being a single mom to her two boys, reading, making gluten-free treats, and watching Korean reality television shows.
Associate Editor: Rebecca Maitland
Rebecca is completing her MLIS in Fall 2024 with a focus on archives and records management. With experience in academic, museum, and religious archives, Rebecca is passionate about connecting people with information and hopes to continue growing in this field. In her free time, Rebecca enjoys going on long walks, doing crosswords, and trying new recipes. Rebecca lives in the Boston area.
Associate Editor: Gwendolyn Smith
Gwendolyn is a second year MLIS student. She was born in Tennessee and moved to San Jose, California when she was ten years old, where she has lived ever since. She graduated with a B.A. in History from the University of California, Davis in 2022 knowing that she wanted to pursue library and information science for her master’s degree. Gwendolyn has a lifelong love of history and cultural anthropology, along with a passion for education, and has always dreamed of working with institutions that bring all of these things together, such as archives, museums, and libraries. She has a special interest in preservation and digitization, to keep historical artifacts and knowledge alive for future generations, and to help block the wave of lost media spawned by the age of the internet. While her dream job would be either to work with historical artifacts in a museum or to work in digital archives, she knows that proper organization is important everywhere. Outside of library and information science, Gwendolyn loves to do embroidery and other crafts, play video games, read novels, and continue studying history.
Associate Editor: Michelle Berman
Michelle Berman is a first-year student in the iSchool program. She holds an MA in Sociology from UCLA, where she first developed an interest in archives while researching her thesis on repertory cinemas. After serving as a graduate teaching assistant for courses on cultural sociology, ethnography, and social theory, she worked for several years as a quantitative data analyst in the market research industry, and is excited to be returning to the world of words, her first love. She hopes her lifelong annoying habit of correcting others’ grammar and usage will serve her well in her assistant editor role.
Associate Editor: Elsa Levecque
Elsa is about halfway through the MLIS program at SJSU. A history graduate from the University of Ottawa, Elsa wants to pursue a career in archives. Issues that motivate her are access to information and preserving the past, particularly through digital services and curation. Elsa lives in Ottawa, Ontario and enjoys reading, knitting, hiking, antiquing, and visiting historical sites and museums.
Associate Editor: Rea Sandhu
Rea Sandhu is a first-year MLIS student from the Bay Area. Rea has a great interest in history, archives, and digital preservation. Currently, she’s getting experience working as an intern on two oral history projects for various cultural communities in the Bay Area. She looks forward to exploring future opportunities in her career to continue giving back and preserving the stories of minority and marginalized communities. In her free time, she enjoys watching movies, listening to music, playing video games, and finding new arts and crafts to try.
