Hi, I\u2019m Raquel, Secretary <\/strong>of the UX Student Group. I’m an MLIS student at SJSU, currently taking courses toward a Certificate in Strategic Management of Digital Assets and Services. My main interests include user-centered design, information architecture, and special librarianship. Outside of LIS, I enjoy creative writing, drawing, and bouldering. I\u2019m in my third semester of San Jos\u00e9 State University\u2019s MLIS program, and after graduating I\u2019m interested in working in cataloguing focusing on DEI and user experience. In my free time, I enjoy reading Sci-Fi\/ Horror books, fiber arts crafting, playing board games, watching movies, and hanging out with my friends and cat, Miso soup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m currently in my second semester for the MLIS program, and I\u2019m interested in both the academic and public librarianship pathways. Outside of school, I work full-time as a Senior Editor for a medtech company, and in my free time, I\u2019m almost always reading, watching any and all sports, or taking my puppy, Mocha, on a walk!

I\u2019m an Events Coordinator<\/strong> for UXSG this semester, and I\u2019m currently studying <\/em><\/strong>Information Science and Data Analytics at San Jos\u00e9 State University. I\u2019m a UI\/UX Designer in the tech industry, and I love making sense out of complex problems. Outside of work and school, I love to draw and paint, go on nature walks with my husband, and play with my three cats: Ramen, Udon, and Soba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently I am working in LA County as a Library Associate and at Bellflower Unified School District as an Instructional Aide with a career goal of becoming a Librarian. Some of my hobbies and interests include hiking, baking, video games, LEGO, movie theaters and concerts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I enjoy learning new technical skills and working on projects that combine technology, creativity, and problem-solving.
