Are you one of the few, the proud, the special librarians<\/strong><\/em>?<\/p>\n If you wish CLA had more content for you, you\u2019re in luck\u2026<\/p>\n The California Library Association has authorized the creation of a Special Libraries Interest\u00a0Group.<\/p>\n Our Mission:<\/strong><\/p>\n The Special Libraries Interest Group of CLA, or SLIG,\u00a0will work to provide professional\u00a0development resources, guidance, networking opportunities and mentorship to special librarians\u00a0at the statewide level, and to facilitate the exchange of ideas and sharing of resources between\u00a0special libraries, and other libraries in California.<\/p>\n We plan to offer a Newsletter\/Blog, active discussion via a Listserve, Interactive Tours and\u00a0Webinars for Spring Fling, and programming and networking events for annual conference.<\/p>\n Interested in helping? We are actively looking for volunteers!<\/p>\n Volunteer opportunities:<\/strong><\/p>\n Looking to get involved with CLA, but wondered where you fit in because you didn\u2019t work for a\u00a0public institution? Here\u2019s your chance. We need help with leadership, programming and\u00a0networking events at the annual conference. We especially encourage students interested in\u00a0special libraries to get involved with this group.
