The scholarship is funded through an IMLS grant awarded to the Alaska Library Network and in partnership with the American Indian Library Association (AILA), the Alaska Library Network, and SJSU. The BKS is a 3-year cohort-style program that supports the recruitment, development, and training of 15 Native Hawaiian, American Indian, and Alaska Native scholars into the field of librarianship. Mayer Library<\/a>. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sabrina will be presenting a poster on &#8220;Visionary Student Leadership: How the SJSU ALA Student Chapter Creates Opportunities for Future LIS Professionals&#8221; at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cla-net.org\/page\/CLA2022\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.cla-net.org\/page\/CLA2022\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2022 California Library Association Annual Conference<\/a> in Sacramento, California. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sabrina was selected as the inaugural <a href=\"https:\/\/ischool.sjsu.edu\/news\/ischool-student-selected-bslise-international-scholar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BSLISE iSchool International Scholar<\/a>. In this role, Sabrina is supporting the <a href=\"https:\/\/bslise.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Building Strong LIS Education<\/a> (BSLISE) initiative, a working group of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ifla.org\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.ifla.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">International Federation of Library Associations<\/a> (IFLA). Learning to Answer Reference-By-Mail Letters from Incarcerated Individuals&#8221;<\/a> at the <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.sjsu.edu\/cpgestudentconference\/2022conference\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2022 CPGE Online Student Conference<\/a>. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Michael recently started an internship with the National Park Service at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/goga\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Golden Gate National Recreation Area<\/a>. Pinkett Student of Color Award given by the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www2.archivists.org\/news\/2020\/harold-t-pinkett-student-of-color-award-carol-ng-he\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Society of American Archivists<\/a> in Chicago, Illinois.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Erica Jones Miller<\/strong> won the 2020 Gersten-Sternheim Memorial Scholarship from the <a href=\"https:\/\/connect.sla.org\/socal\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Southern California SLA<\/a> Chapter and the 2020 <a href=\"https:\/\/scallnet.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/scallnet.org\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SCALL Scholarship<\/a>.
