With a professional background in nonprofit marketing, she blends communications expertise with a deep commitment to community engagement and social equity. She is especially proud of her long-standing volunteer work with organizations like the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), the Sierra Club, and her local library district, where her service\u2014and a meaningful moment at a volunteer appreciation dinner\u2014led her to pursue librarianship professionally. Since then, she has taken on various roles within the library, including work in Special Collections, Community Relations, and for over a year, the Technical Services Department, where she assists with cataloging books, media, and unique programming, such as the Seed Library and the Library of Things. In addition to her work within the library system, Adina is an active volunteer at the library&#8217;s Friends of the Library (FOL) used bookstore. She currently manages the store\u2019s promotions and has served as Secretary on the FOL board for two years. Adina has held&nbsp;her&nbsp;position as Blog Director for the Special Libraries Association Student Chapter (SLASC) for nearly two years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her work is grounded in a passion for mental health accessibility and affordability, community activism, and representation within the library system. Adina is particularly interested in advancing Latinx voices and experiences in academic librarianship, with a focus on cataloging and classification. She is set to graduate in spring 2026. Her interests include collecting and reading alternative graphic novels, indie pop rock, needle felting, mid-century modern design, and thrifting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Vice President: Emily Stockton<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/ischoolgroups.sjsu.edu\/slasc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Emily-Stockton-150x150.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7234\" style=\"object-fit:cover\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Emily (she\/her) began her MLIS journey at San Jose State University in Fall 2024. Based in the Sacramento area, she currently works as a student assistant in the Law Section of the California State Library. She holds a B.A. in Anthropology with an emphasis in sociocultural studies from Arizona State University. Emily\u2019s background in cultural research sparked her passion for improving public access to information. She is especially interested in outreach and community engagement, striving to create meaningful connections between libraries and the communities they serve. In her free time, Emily enjoys crocheting, spending time with her cat, watching movies and television, and reading as many books as possible. She lives in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles with her husband, two children, and lots of pets. She currently volunteers at the Sherman Grinberg Film Library in Chatsworth, CA. She has a BA in Liberal Studies from Cal State Long Beach, and her other academic pursuits are Archival Studies, Art History, Studio Art, Museum Studies, and French. She earned her Bachelor\u2019s degree in Psychology, with a minor in Disabilities Studies, from UC Berkeley. She currently volunteers virtually with the library at Pacific Northwest University (PNWU) in Yakima, Washington, and plans to graduate in Spring 2026. She lives in Calabasas, CA, is a member of the MLGSCA Professional Issues Committee, and is passionate about her work with the International Association of Armenian Librarians and Archivists (IAALA). She earned her B.A. in History from UC Riverside, where she focused on the history of science and technology. During her time at UCR, her internship with A People\u2019s History of the Inland Empire sparked an interest in digital humanities and led to a deeper interest in archival work. After this experience, Delilah interned as the Collections Intern at the California Citrus State Historic Park and as the Special Collections and Archives Intern at her local public library, gaining experience supporting archival and digital preservation work. She is especially drawn to the intersection of archives, science, and technology and hopes to help preserve the records that make scientific discovery possible. She hopes to work in a scientific or technical archival institution that allows her to contribute to this mission. She became interested in library work after working for the Whitman College and Northwest Archives as an undergraduate. While there she started her own oral history project, The Centering Disabled Voices Oral History Project, where she interviewed fellow Disabled students on their experience with accessibility in and outside the classroom. Marleigh currently works at her local library and spends the rest of her time volunteering at a nearby historical society in the archives. As a volunteer she works to increase engagement and online accessibility with local history. She is passionate about the intersection between accessible community spaces and information science. After spending several years as a pastry chef, they received their bachelors in Applied Anthropology from CSU Dominguez Hills. This kindled a love of qualitative research in the fields of Medical Anthropology and Disability Studies\/Activism that special librarianship in both Medical and Archival fields have been vital. Currently an assistant at El Segundo Public Library, Taylor hopes to expand their horizons through SLASC by working to expose members to unique libraries nationwide and how they serve their respective communities. When not working or studying, Taylor loves knitting and crochet, reading, and foraging whilst taking their dogs on hikes around the Los Angeles area. She explores photography and digital art as tools for storytelling, often blending documentary style with surrealist elements. She is a proud Filipino, historian, and Eastern Los Angeles native. She currently lives in the San Gabriel Valley with her husband and daughter. She has a previous Master\u2019s Degree in History from California State University, Los Angeles, focusing on environmental history. She currently works as an Educator at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (MOCA). She is interested in all things historical, botanical, mycological, and ornithological, especially when it comes to libraries and archives. She hopes to work in a horticultural library one day. In her free time, Brittani loves traveling, reading, eating, and birding. She received her Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from Santa Clara University in Spring 2024 and began her MLIS journey at San Jose State University in Spring 2025. Gillian&#8217;s background in marketing has led to her interest in libraries, specifically in the ways information can be meaningfully connected to people who need it. She is especially interested in special libraries and their ability to tailor information services to niche, unique communities in non-traditional library settings. She has experience as a Library Clerk at an elementary school library and a Library Page at a public library. She volunteers weekly at a public library as a Tech Mentor, further connecting with members of her San Jose community. She graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor\u2019s in Art History in 2021. She recently returned from teaching English in South Korea for 2 years and currently lives in Kansas City, MO with her family. She has worked for Mid Continent Public Library twice, the first time as a Customer Service Associate for a year, the second as an Early Literacy Associate since January 2025. Primarily interested in special libraries, she is still exploring the wide array of options in this subfield. Sarah began the program in Spring 2025, and hopes to graduate in the Fall 2026. She has bachelors degrees in history and political science from UCLA, and was lucky enough to spend the first part of her career in museum education and exhibit development. She also has experience in volunteer training and management, including the planning and execution of learning conferences. Since then, she has interned in digital media for the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, held a variety of positions related to web services and virtual organization, and currently works in the administration office of the UCLA Library. She&#8217;s looking forward to completing&nbsp;her education&nbsp;in Spring 2027 and, hopefully, finding a digital archivist position at an archive or special library. Lan has a strong interest in early modern women&#8217;s writings, digital humanities, and legal humanities. He also completed graduate courses in Legal Studies at the University of Illinois and attained the CIPP\/US Information Privacy Professional Certification from the IAPP. Dr. Mooradian has published articles in areas such as information ethics, business ethics, information privacy, enterprise content management (ecm), knowledge management, and virtual reality, and he is the author of&nbsp;<em>Ethics for Records and Information Management<\/em>&nbsp;(2018, ALA).
