Tansey is the founder of Memory Rising, a consulting practice specializing in climate change, environmental and labor movements, and Ohio Valley regional history. Before launching Memory Rising, she spent fifteen years working in academic libraries at the University of Cincinnati and Tulane University. Her research on the risks climate change poses to archival collections has been featured in outlets including Yale Climate Connections and VICE. Her most recent publication, A Green New Deal for Archives, won the 2024 Waldo Gifford Leland Award, granted by the SAA. As an SJSU alum and former SAASC board member herself, Tansey brings a perspective shaped by both her career and her own roots in this program.
