DESCRIPTION:Please join us for this exciting event with guest speaker Christian James. \nData on the Web: Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and Libraries \nAn increasing amount of open data\, cultural heritage information and library data are available through Advanced Programming Interfaces (APIs). The ability to access and query APIs is an increasingly valuable skill for information professionals. Christian James\, Web Application Librarian at The Catholic University of America\, will discuss APIs using several examples relevant to librarians. He will also discuss ways to load\, query\, and display API data using JavaScript. \nSpeaker Bio: Christian James is Web Application Librarian at University Libraries at The Catholic University of America\, where he maintains Libraries websites and digital collections.
