Save the Date!<\/strong> Join us March 21st at 5:00pm PST via Collaborate for a great opportunity to meet and interact with ALA Presidential Candidate Barbara Stripling.
\nDuring this virtual Town Hall meeting Barbara will enlighten us with her vision for transforming ALA, transforming libraries and transforming our communities through libraries. This unique Town Hall format will also provide SLIS students a unique opportunity to ask questions and share their own ideas about being a SLIS student, ALA, the future of libraries \u2013 anything library and information science related!<\/p>\n

You do not need to be attend the live session to get your question answered. The Town Hall will be recorded.<\/p>\n

About Barbara Stripling: Dr. Stripling is Assistant Professor of Practice at Syracuse University and has been a member of\u00a0ALA\u00a0since 1977, serving as a member-at-large of\u00a0ALA Council from 1992-1996 and 1998-present.\u00a0 She is past president (1996-1997) of the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) and has held numerous committee positions within\u00a0AASL.\u00a0 She also served as a member and chair of the\u00a0ALA-APA\u00a0Certification Committee (2002-2007).\u00a0 Other\u00a0ALA\u00a0activities include work as co-chair of\u00a0ALA\u00a0President Molly Raphael\u2019s initiative, Empowering Voices, 2010-present, and trustee of the Merritt Fund\u00a0(2011-present).<\/p>\n

Dr. Stripling received a\u00a0B.A.\u00a0in speech and drama from Stanford University (1968), an\u00a0M.A.\u00a0in Communication and Theatre from the University of Colorado (1974), a M.Ed. in Instructional Resources from the University of Arkansas (1991), an Ed.S. in Educational Administration from the University of Arkansas (2003), and a Doctorate of Professional Studies, Information Management from Syracuse University\u00a0(2011).<\/p>\n
