<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">opportunity to gain leadership experience, work on your communication skills, and make a real difference at the iSchool and in the field of information at least 3 units)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Oversees and manages chapter<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Creates board meeting agendas<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Facilitates board meetings<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Answers questions\/provides guidance<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Co-Chair\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assumes the duties of the Chair in the latter\u2019s absence and shall assume the office of the Chair should it become vacated during the stated term of office<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assists the Chair with the duties of the Executive Committee<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Performs any function designated by the Chair<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maintains ALASC\u2019s website in the absence of a webmaster<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Treasurer (must be enrolled in at least 3 units)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maintains chapter budget<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maintains ALASC Cafepress store<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Handles anything relating to financial processes<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Works with ALASC team on writing grant applications<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Blogging Assistant(s)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assists other board members with publishing announcements on the website\u2019s blog<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Works closely with Event Coordinators and Social Media Manager in coordinating event promotions;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Works closely with other Blogging Assistant(s) to plan and research new and relevant content for blog posts;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assists and advises the Chair on all executive decisions.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Membership Coordinator<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assists Chair with the nomination and election process<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Facilitates outreach to engage ALASC general members<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Leads efforts to encourage iSchool student involvement with ALA (importance to SCOTYA)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assists with member questions and information requests\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0Co-Events Coordinator<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Co-leads the events team<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plans and coordinates chapter\u2019s virtual events and site tours<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Participates in presenting, moderating, and creating slides for virtual events<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coordinates event marketing and outreach<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assists with writing funding applications to support programming<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Events Assistant(s)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assists Events Coordinators<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Attends and provides Zoom support during virtual events<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Participates in event marketing and outreach<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assists in creating presentation slides and graphics<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Helps lead\/co-host at least one event during the academic year<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have more 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nominees must be currently enrolled students at San Jose State University School of Information.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Commit to at least 1-2 hours a week to the chapter, depending on your position and if you decide to help out with any of our committees or events.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Be a member of our parent organization, the American Library Association (not necessary during application process)\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Attend monthly meetings with the executive
