{"id":4160,"date":"2020-11-18T17:47:43","date_gmt":"2020-11-19T01:47:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ischoolgroups.sjsu.edu\/alasc\/wp-students\/?p=4160"},"modified":"2020-11-18T18:05:46","modified_gmt":"2020-11-19T02:05:46","slug":"bcala-seeks-authors-for-reflections-resistance-and-reawakening","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ischoolgroups.sjsu.edu\/alasc\/wp-students\/bcala-seeks-authors-for-reflections-resistance-and-reawakening\/","title":{"rendered":"BCALA seeks authors for Reflections, Resistance, and Reawakening"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Black Caucus of the ALA (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bcala.org\/\">BCALA<\/a>) is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its founding, and is inviting library students to consider writing for the next installment of BCALA&#8217;s <em>Black Librarian in America<\/em> series.<\/p>\n<p>Prospective writers can submit a 1,000-word abstract of a proposed chapter in the new BCALA book entitled <i>The Black Librarian in America:\u00a0<\/i><i>Reflections, Resistance, and Reawakening, <\/i>set for publication in October, 2021.\u00a0 According to a recent BCALA blog post:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Prospective authors should submit 1000 word abstracts to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:blacklibrariansbook@bcala.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">blacklibrariansbook@bcala.org<\/a>\u00a0by\u00a0<b>December 1, 2020 at 11:59p.m. Eastern<\/b>.
