Several of our current members are graduating and we\u2019ve also made some changes to our available positions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This is a <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">great <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">opportunity to gain leadership experience, work on your communication skills, and make a real difference at the iSchool and in the field of information science. You will join a passionate group of fellow students who are determined to affect positive change and create a wonderful environment of learning and growth at our school.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Interested in joining? Great! <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Contact us with your self-nomination by January 10, 2020. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">E-mail: <\/span><a href=\"mailto:sjsualasc@gmail.com\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">sjsualasc@gmail.com<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">What to include: Your name, a short description of yourself and why you would make a good fit for the position you\u2019re interested in. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You must be a currently enrolled student at San Jose State University and be able to commit to at least 1 to 3 hours a week to the chapter, depending on your position and if you decide to help out with any of our committees or events. ???? <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The following positions are open for the next semester \u2013 more info is outlined in our chapter\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ischoolgroups.sjsu.edu\/alasc\/wp-students\/?page_id=1163\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Constitution<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Co-Chair \/ Webmaster<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Maintains\/updates website (WordPress)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Maintains\/updates Canvas page<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Maintains blog, posts new content with the help of the blogging assistants<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Leads board meetings when Chair is not present<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Assists Chair with overall group facilitation<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Archivist \/ Secretary<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Takes notes during board meetings<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sends meeting notes summary to board members after meeting has adjourned<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Organizes and archives documents in our Team Google Drive<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Assists Chair in monitoring chapter email account<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Gets event dates published on the SJSU iSchool calendar<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sends our events, announcements, and other information to iSchool staff to get an iSchool Alert sent to student body<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>\u00a0\u00a0Treasurer (must be San Jose adjacent)<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintains chapter budget<\/li>\n<li>Maintains ALASC Cafepress store<\/li>\n<li>Handles anything relating to financial processes<\/li>\n<li>Position requires some on-campus commitments throughout the year long-term<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Blogging Assistant<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Assists other board members with publishing content (events info, etc) on the website blog<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Works with the other blogging assistant(s) to plan and research new and relevant blog posts<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Nominations are now OPEN until January 10, 2020. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Afterward, voting by the student body will then open from January 14th to January 21st, 2020 and will take place on Canvas (more information to follow on how to vote). Results will be announced on January 23rd and the new board will be transitioned soon after.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As a side note \u2013 our elections usually take place at the end of every school year, however due to our number of openings, we have decided to hold special elections to fill the board for the Spring semester.
