You will join a passionate group of fellow students who are determined to affect positive change and create a wonderful environment of learning and growth at our school.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We have the following positions on our executive board:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00b7 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><b>Chair<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Oversees and manages chapter<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Responds to emails sent to main chapter email<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Creates board meeting agendas<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Facilitates board meetings<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Answers questions\/provides guidance<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00b7 (WordPress)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maintains\/updates Canvas page<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maintains blog, posts new content with the help of the blogging \u00a0assistants<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Leads board meetings when Chair is not present<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assists Chair with overall group facilitation<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00b7 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><b>Treasurer (must be San Jose adjacent )<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maintains chapter budget<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maintains ALASC Cafepress store<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Handles anything relating to financial processes<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Position requires some on-campus commitments throughout the year long-term<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span notes during board meetings<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sends meeting notes summary to board members after meeting has adjourned<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Organizes and archives documents in our Team Google Drive<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assists Chair in monitoring chapter email account<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gets event dates published on the SJSU iSchool calendar<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sends our events, announcements, and other information to iSchool staff to get an iSchool Alert sent to student body<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00b7 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><b>Social Media Manager<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Posts all information from our group (email info and events, etc) on all social media platforms<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Strategizes on best ways to utilize social media for our needs<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Works with Co-Chair \/ Webmaster, Events Coordinators, and Blogging Assistants to cross-promote events and blog posts<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00b7 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><b>Events Coordinators (x2)<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Brainstorms \/ coordinates in-person events in physical locations and virtual events online<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finds dates for events (reviewing iSchool calendar to make sure there are no event overlaps)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Works with the other events coordinator(s) to ensure we have rich programming and events for the current school year<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sends event info to fellow board members for promotion<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00b7 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><b>Blogging Assistants (x2)<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assists other board members with publishing content (events info, etc) on the website blog<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Works with the other blogging assistant(s) to plan and research new and relevant blog Tuesday, April 30.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Requirements<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nominees must be currently enrolled students at San Jose State University School of Information and be able to commit to at least 1 to 2 hours a week to the chapter, depending on your position and if you decide to help out with any of our committees or events. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All elected executive board members must be members of the American Library Association. All positions are expected to attend the monthly meetings of the executive board at a time that will be set by the next board.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nominations are now OPEN until <\/span><b>Tuesday, April 30<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Afterward, voting by the student body will open from <\/span><b>Thursday, May 2 to Wednesday, May 8<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and will take place on Canvas (more information to follow on how to vote).
