Getting involved in SJSU ALASC (San Jose State University American Library Association Student Chapter) is easy. As an enrolled student of the SJSU School of Information, you are automatically a member of ALASC<\/strong>. You do not need to pay any fee.<\/p>\n ALASC keeps students connected to ALA publications, scholarships, and conferences. It also organizes virtual and face-to-face events where students can network and socialize with classmates and hear guest lectures about the library and information science profession. Past events included the Huntington Library Tour, a virtual internship event, a Q&A session on the ePortfolio, and a Banned Books Week Scavenger Hunt.<\/p>\n Exercise your membership by attending ALASC events, participating in ALASC online social networks, and volunteering to help with ALASC activities.
