{"id":1525,"date":"2014-04-25T15:55:57","date_gmt":"2014-04-25T15:55:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/slisgroups.sjsu.edu\/alasc\/wp-students\/?p=1525"},"modified":"2017-08-22T14:56:49","modified_gmt":"2017-08-22T22:56:49","slug":"paid-student-assistant-position","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ischoolgroups.sjsu.edu\/alasc\/wp-students\/paid-student-assistant-position\/","title":{"rendered":"Paid student assistant position!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are looking for a current SLIS student with excellent writing skills to serve in a paid student assistant position.\u00a0 The student will be responsible for writing weekly posts for the school\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/slisapps.sjsu.edu\/blogs\/wp\/enroll\/\" target=\"_blank\">New Student Blog<\/a>, providing information and advice for newly admitted students.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tasks will include researching and writing blog posts, interviewing individuals to develop content for blog posts, publishing posts on a WordPress blog, moderating comments, analyzing and reporting on blog metrics, suggesting topics for future blog posts, and making recommendations regarding how to make the blog a more effective tool for connecting with new students.\u00a0 In addition, the student assistant will occasionally write other content for the school, such as guest posts on other school blogs.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The ideal candidate for this position will be a current SLIS student who has experience writing public relations or marketing material, has completed at least two semesters as an MLIS or MARA student, and is available to work throughout the academic year and during the summer.\u00a0 The candidate must have excellent writing skills.\u00a0 Experience interviewing individuals to develop content is ideal.\u00a0 In\u00a0addition, the ideal candidate will have blogging experience, with proficiency using WordPress or a similar blogging platform.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The student will work approximately 10 to 15 hours a week.
