Research Methods in LIS is a required course, and it has multiple sections focusing on different topics. Dr. Lili Luo will provide an overview of the variety of the research methods course, and explain how to choose the section that will best fit\u00a0your needs.<\/p>\n<p>Individuals requiring real-time captioning or other accommodations should <a href=\"http:\/\/ischoolapps.sjsu.edu\/email\/email.php?fname=Sue&amp;lname=Alman\">contact Sue Alman<\/a><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">\u00a0as soon as possible.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>We look forward to seeing you there!<\/p>\n<p>About the speaker:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-3323\" src=\"http:\/\/ischoolgroups.sjsu.edu\/asistsc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/LiliLuoheadshot1.jpg\" alt=\"LiliLuoheadshot(1)\" width=\"225\" height=\"249\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Lili Luo is an associate professor at the School of Information at San Jose State University. She received her Master\u2019s in Information Management from Peking University and PhD in Library and Information Science from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her primary areas of expertise include digital reference service, information seeking and use, research methods and LIS education. She is particularly interested in studying the evolution of reference service under the influence of emerging technologies, and she has published actively and led multiple research projects in this area, including a recent research grant, funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, to study the best practices of providing reference service via texting.
