The Nominating & Elections Committee invites nominations from SJSU ASIS&T Student Chapter members\u00a0for Executive Committee positions for the 2013-2014 administrative year, which runs from June 1, 2013\u00a0to May 31, 2014. To nominate yourself, you will need to submit a short bio, statement of purpose,\u00a0and a picture for our election by September 6th. See below for complete details.<\/p>\n
<\/strong>\u2022 Preside over all meetings of the Executive Committee. \u2022 Maintain a complete and accurate financial statement. \u2022 Attend the ASIS&T Annual Meeting. \u2022 Carry out the functions of designing, creating, assembling, editing, and producing a Student Chapter\u00a0newsletter twice per semester. Nomination requirements:<\/strong> Candidates for office must be SJSU ASIS&T Student Chapter members\u00a0and must be clear of intent of enrollment through May 2014. Nothing prevents any member from\u00a0being elected to more than one office of the Executive Committee, except that the Assembly\u00a0Representative and the Alternate Assembly Representative must be different individuals.<\/p>\n Nomination process:<\/strong> Candidates may nominate themselves for election. \n\u2022 Appoint the Chairs of all committees, subject to the provisions of these Bylaws and the consent of the\u00a0Executive Committee.
\n\u2022 Submit a request for the annual Student Chapter fund appropriation to ASIS&T Headquarters by the\u00a0date specified.
\n\u2022 Submit an Annual Report of the Student Chapter to ASIS&T Headquarters by the date specified for self\u00a0nomination of the annual Student Chapter of the Year Award or by the close of the ASIS&T fiscal\u00a0year.
\n\u2022 Act and function as the official representative to other student organizations, faculty, campus\u00a0administration, and the media, unless the Chair otherwise designates these responsibilities to\u00a0another officer.
\n\u2022 Run day-to-day affairs of the Student Chapter.
\n\u2022 Implement a plan of action to achieve Student Chapter goals.
\n\u2022 Make necessary online preparations for organizational meetings.
\n\u2022 Submit all Executive Committee meetings and programs for posting to the SLIS Master Events Calendar.
\n\u2022 Post agendas at least 24 hours in advance of Executive Committee meetings.<\/p>\nTreasurer<\/strong><\/h3>\n
\n\u2022 Maintain complete and accurate records of all receipts, expenditures, donations, and raised funds.
\n\u2022 Be accountable to the Executive Committee regarding the authorization of all expenditures.
\n\u2022 Provide a current financial statement to the Executive Committee upon request.
\n\u2022 Provide the Chair with an Annual Financial Statement to be submitted to ASIS&T Headquarters.
\n\u2022 Direct Student Chapter expenditures of funds.
\n\u2022 Direct Student Chapter fundraising activities.
\n\u2022 Formulate the content on the Student Chapter\u2019s website regarding donation procedures.
\n\u2022 Communicate regularly with the ASIS&T Director of Finance & Administration regarding the status of the\u00a0Student Chapter\u2019s financial account.
\n\u2022 Perform such duties as the Executive Committee or the Chair may assign as expected of a Treasurer.<\/p>\nAssembly Representative<\/strong><\/h3>\n
\n\u2022 Represent the interests of the Student Chapter at the Chapter Assembly Meeting at the ASIS&T Annual\u00a0Meeting.
\n\u2022 Perform such duties as the Executive Committee or the Chair may assign as expected of an Assembly\u00a0Representative.<\/p>\nNewsletter Editor<\/strong><\/h3>\n
\n\u2022 Solicit newsletter submissions from the Executive Committee and Student Chapter membership relating\u00a0to Student Chapter news as well as general topical pieces about information science and\u00a0technology.
\n\u2022 Perform such duties as the Executive Committee or the Chair may assign as expected of a Newsletter\u00a0Editor.<\/p>\n
