Come and join us to learn more about ASIS&T, opportunities for committee work, chapter activities, and programs for the upcoming year.\u00a0 Membership in ASIS&T promotes professional development, networking, career development goals, and leadership opportunities in the information community.<\/p>\n

ASIS&T Student Chapter membership is open to all SJSU students and is not limited to those within the San Francisco Bay Area.<\/p>\n

March\u2019s meeting will feature an\u00a0 “Academic or Professional Experience Sharing\u201d<\/strong> presentation by Theresa Putkey<\/strong>, a SLIS student and SJSU ASIS&T Student Chapter member. Theresa\u00a0 has a background in the software and web design field<\/strong>, which has shown her that content\u00a0 is often used as a salve to fix bigger communication and interaction problems. She moved into information architecture<\/strong> to ensure that companies use their dollars most effectively, plan correctly, and execute the user experience and information architecture phases efficiently. MLIS students are uniquely positioned to do user experience and information architecture work.
