{"id":1003,"date":"2011-11-30T18:42:21","date_gmt":"2011-12-01T02:42:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/slisgroups.sjsu.edu\/asistsc\/?p=1003"},"modified":"2014-10-11T19:25:56","modified_gmt":"2014-10-12T02:25:56","slug":"call-for-nominations-membership-director-and-social-media-administrator","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/ischoolgroups.sjsu.edu\/asistsc\/call-for-nominations-membership-director-and-social-media-administrator\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Nominations: Membership Director and Social Media Administrator"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">Call for nominations for ASIS&amp;T Student Chapter board: Membership Director and Social Media Administrator<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>We are currently seeking an enthusiastic person for an opening on our Executive Board.<\/em><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>Looking for a student organization to join?\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>Need leadership skills for your resume?\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>Become a member of SJSU ASIS&amp;T Student Chapter!\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The Nominating Committee invites nominations from SJSU-ASIS&amp;T student members for a vacancy in the\u00a0Executive Committee for the year 2011-2012.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Membership Director<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Duties\/Responsibilities:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Recruit new students into ASIS&amp;T at the beginning of each semester.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct membership outreach efforts to encourage students to join the Student Chapter.<\/li>\n<li>Recommend policies and programs to the Executive Committee that seek to increase the membership of the Student Chapter.<\/li>\n<li>Formulate the content on the Student Chapter&#8217;s Web site regarding membership benefits and the process by which students may join the Student Chapter.<\/li>\n<li>Respond to students&#8217; e-mails concerning membership issues via the Student Chapter&#8217;s e-mail account.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure prospective and current members are in compliance with ASIS&amp;T\u2019s requirement that all Student Chapter Members be members of ASIS&amp;T.<\/li>\n<li>Send an official welcome message via e-mail to new Student Chapter Members.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a roster of Student Chapter Members and make it accessible to the Executive Committee.<\/li>\n<li>Add all Student Chapter Members to the Student Chapter&#8217;s site on the current learning management system utilized by San Jose State University&#8217;s School of Library and Information Science.<\/li>\n<li>Record the attendance of members and non-members at Student Chapter online meetings and programs.<\/li>\n<li>Perform such duties as the Executive Committee or the Chair may assign, within reason, as expected of a Membership Director.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Social Media Administrator<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Duties\/Responsibilities:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create, implement, and manage Student Chapter social media accounts.<\/li>\n<li>Promote Student Chapter meetings, programs, projects, activities, news, publications, resources, and features to students and faculty via Student Chapter social media accounts.<\/li>\n<li>Provide feedback to those who interact with the Student Chapter&#8217;s social media accounts.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor the Student Chapter&#8217;s social media accounts for inappropriate content.<\/li>\n<li>Inform ASIS&amp;T Headquarters of any updates to the Student Chapter&#8217;s social media accounts, which are displayed on the Student Chapter Web page on the ASIS&amp;T Web site.<\/li>\n<li>Perform such duties as the Executive Committee or the Chair may assign, within reason, as expected of a Social Media Administrator<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Nomination Requirements:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Candidates may nominate themselves for election and must be <a title=\"SJSU-ASIS&amp;T Student Chapter members\" href=\"http:\/\/slisgroups.sjsu.edu\/asistsc\/?page_id=43\" target=\"_blank\">SJSU-ASIS&amp;T Student Chapter members<\/a>. Candidates for office must be clear of intent of enrollment through May 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Please send your nomination, including a short bio, statement of purpose, and portrait photograph, to the Nominating Committee Chair Sarah Emmerson at <a href=\"mailto:sjsuasist@gmail.com\">sjsuasist@gmail.com<\/a> by December 3, 2011 at 11:59pm PT.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Important dates:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0All nominations must be received by <strong>December 3, 2011 at 11:59pm PT<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Elections will be held December 5 \u2013 9, 2011.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Voting process:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Officers shall be elected by a majority of the ASIS&amp;T Student Chapter members voting online via D2L.
